Below you'll find detailed information on each of the factions in the mod.
There are two types of factions the player can join, lawful and unlawful. If you opt to join one type of faction, this will lock you out of doing the other type, unless you are removed from that type, in which case you may be given a chance to side with the other type. If you have advanced too far however, the contacts at the guild will know and not welcome you. Further more, you can be removed from a faction for numerous reasons, so it is good to be mindful of your actions within the guilds.
Topside
Typically the topside factions are considered lawful, or to be of the benefit of the many. The Fighters, Healers, Hirdic, Hunters, Mages, and Vhosek Guild are all organized and operated from the guildhall in Njarstad's Trade District. While these aforementioned guilds all work toward a common good, some of their contracts may not be fully legal and commuting to, and acting on such a contract could have repercussions.
- Blessed Sha' om - This guild is a mercenary organization engaged in maintaining control of the land of Temoric. Some of the contracts deal with resolving discontent and forming public opinion.
- Fighters Guild - This guild is a mercenary organization engaged in protection services for the city as well as neighboring towns and settlements. Some of the contracts deal with pest-creature control, bodyguard work and battle.
- Healers Guild - This guild is a co-op of smaller guilds that would not have enough contract work on their own to justify a guild. Most of the quests deal with the preservation of life in some regard.
- Hirdic Guild - This guild is a mercenary organization engaged in regaining control of the land of Temoric. Some of the contracts deal with subterfuge.
- Hunters Guild - This guild is a bounty hunting organization engaged in the collection of trophies and celebration of the hunt.
- Mages Guild - This guild is a mercenary organization engaged in the advancement of magical knowledge for all as well as providing magical services. Some of the contracts deal with practical use of magic, as well as acquiring new magical implements.
- Vhosek Guild - This guild is a mercenary organization engaged in gaining control of the land of Temoric. Some of the contracts deal with subterfuge.
Undercity
- Assassins Guild - TBA
- Dust Dealers - The selling and use of drugs may have been a crime at one point, but not under the current leadership, thought it still does have it's hazards. These contracts deal mostly in collections and acquiring new clients.
- Filchers Guild - This guild was born out of necessity due to the poor living conditions in the Undercity. The guild official represents the whole guild. These contracts mostly deal in taking from others for profit.
- Slavers Guild - Slavery is a commerce throughout parts of Frosthaven, from kidnapping to selling members of one's own family, the Slavers Guild is there. While this practice is highly illegal and unethical, it seems to have eluded the newly assigned guards and leadership. These contracts involve the capturing of assets and developing ones skills in the trade.
Other
- Necromancers Guild - A true defilement of the dearly departed. This guild is hated by most and for good reason. Acceptance into this guild is also rumored to be a challenge in itself. These contracts deal in acquiring materials and practicing the forbidden arts of necromancy.
